IN THE BEGINNING:
|
By the end of the year 1996, Eduard Poliak (Eddie) had left his job at a guitar factory in the city of Minsk, Belarus, and so he decided to immigrate to Israel in 1997 bringing a couple of guitars he had built.
By that time, Mordechai Davidov (Ruslan) had been living in Israel for 8 years, working as a musician and as a guitar teacher.
Tired of looking for a handmade guitar after trying hundreds of mass made instruments, he set off to meet Edi after Pima Shuster (Keyboards with Israeli rock band Stella Maris) told him about his guitars.

THE EARLY YEARS:
|
The same year, Eddie and Ruslan decided to open the Poliard Guitars Company, and so they built 3 guitars at Eddie's home, after selling them in a matter of days, they moved to a warehouse in Hadera, with two little suitcases with tools and a couple of woodblocks, the first 100 guitars came out of the facility, and so they had to move again in order to meet the requests of new customers.
Two years later in 1999, the Kfar Glikson kibbutz was an ideal place to move, this time a truck was needed to move all the equipment to the new facility.
The first neck-thru bass guitars (Robert Boem's) and the Classics, Rockmasters and the first Emperor models were made in the new facility until 2002.

UP TO DATE:
|
This time, we moved to a new facility in the Or Akiva industrial zone, a workshop with 100 sq meters, this time it took a couple of days to move including the router, band saw, workbenches, etc. The name Poliard was dropped and ERG Custom Guitars was born.
Up to this date, the ERG Custom Guitars Company hand builds each guitar in this facility using only the best tonewood, electronics and hardware available worldwide. An agreement is made with the customer regarding each and every aspect of the guitar such as shape, woods, electronics, inlays, hardware and any special requests to reach every desire he/she may have about the instrument.
Each guitar goes thru a quality control test before and after every step of the building process, in contact with the customer to assure that he/she gets the best guitar available.
